1. Arriving in Malmö Station
Once you’ve got your train ticket from Copenhagen Central, you’ll be darting across the Øresund Bridge into Malmö. Although we didn’t get checked upon arrival, it’s important to bring your passport. You are entering into a whole new country!
2. Kungsparken
Kungsparken is located a short walk from the station. We decided to explore in order to build up an appetite for our exciting lunch. Malmö is a compact, pedestrian friendly city and this park in particular was a breathe of fresh air (no pun intended!)
Luckily, the weather was pleasant so we grabbed a coffee and walked around this beautiful garden in the city. The lake was gorgeous and we took the opportunity to hire a pedalo boats to explore the waters beyond the expansive green spaces. To find out opening times and prices, click here.
Don’t miss the beautiful fountain, castle and gigantic windmill!

3. Swedish Lunch at Bullen
Bullen is a gem in the city centre serving traditional Swedish classics.
We weren’t leaving until we got our hands on Swedish meatballs, we were in Sweden after all. The veal meatballs were served with a creamy whiskey sauce, mashed potatoes, lingonberry and pickled cucumbers. I don’t even know where to start with this dish, it was flawless. The flavours were out of this world, we wanted to bottle that sauce and bring it back to the UK with us!! Easily the best meatballs we have ever had. Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive and whilst many have described this restaurant to be a tad on the pricy side, we thought it was worth every cent!

4. Malmö Old Town
Malmö is a young city with half its’ population under aged 35. The city has a bohemian-hipster vibe which comes from some buildings, dress sense and the pubs/restaurants.
We spent the last part of the afternoon exploring the heart of the city, Gamla Staden, also known as the Old Town. It truly is a beautiful, charming city. We did some bar hopping and searched high and low for cinnamon rolls before we got our train back to Copenhagen. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with our ones from Pronto, despite all the positive reviews. It was cold and rock hard, we could barely taste the cinnamon and they were covered in low quality white and dark chocolate, not recommended at all. If anyone knows were to get decent cinnamon rolls in Malmö, please let us know!!
All in all, it was a very pleasant trip and worth the journey if you are visiting Copenhagen as you get to experience two gorgeous Scandi cities in one trip!
