1. Where is Seven Restaurant & Rooftop Cocktail Bar Located?
Located on the 7th floor of a pretty ordinary hotel building lies the extraordinary Seven Restaurant & Rooftop Bar in the centre of Palermo.
It is very easy to miss it however there is a small placard on the side of the building that says ‘Seven Restaurant & Rooftop Bar’. There you will be greeted by the hotel receptionist who will ask if you have a booking or not. Then you will simply take the elevator to the 7th floor for some of the best views that the city has to offer!
You can find this bar and restaurant at Via Roma, n°111, 90133 Palermo PA, Italy.
2. Do I Need To Book In Advance?
To avoid disappointment, you should book in advance. We visited in May which is the shoulder season before the summer months so booking 2 weeks in advance. However – you can book here. We highly recommend booking a table at sunset for incredible views like these…
3. What To Order At Seven Restaurant?
Now, having done our research – many people said that it’s better to just drink here and enjoy the sunset views as opposed to dining here as the feedback about the food included adjectives such as ‘bland’ and ‘overpriced’. We decided to try out both to give 23 Travellers an honest opinion. Now we won’t lie – the menu didn’t blow us away so we opted for a light dinner.
For drinks, we opted for the No.3 signature cocktail which contained Ketel One vodka, triple sec, pink grapefruit juice, passion fruit, agave syrup, and lime juice. This cost us a whopping €18 – but it was extremely refreshing!
We skipped starters and first courses and went straight for the second course. We ordered the baked croaker fish with sautéed chard, mussels and black seafood sauce which cost us €25. This tasted nice and the fish was very fresh – we had never tried croaker before. However, we did think the price tag was a bit hefty for quite a small piece of fish with no sides except what seemed like a child’s portion of ‘sautéed chard’.
For dessert we got the hazelnut crunch with seasonal fruit, for di latte ice cream and raspberry sauce €10 – this was really tasty but again – we could’ve eaten this in one mouthful easily.
You can view the menu here (scroll down ever so slightly for the English menu).
4. So Would We Recommend Dining at Seven Restaurant or Just Visiting For Drinks?
We completely understand why people recommend only visiting for drinks – if you’re on a budget we would certainly recommend it too as the food here is slightly pricey. However, in terms of the quality of the food, it was delicious so if you’re willing to splash the cash or if you’re celebrating a special occasion, we see no reason why you shouldn’t dine here too!
Be sure to stay here past sunset for incredible night time views from Palermo’s tallest rooftop!
