Scorpios Beach Club in Mykonos is definitely up there with the world’s most famous party venues. With its strobe lighting, boho interiors and trance-like music, this Beach Club is renowned for its crowd of affluent-adjacent 20-30-something-year-olds who are just looking to have a good time.
However, is Scorpio’s Beach Club really worth the hype and is it worth remortgaging your house just to afford a cocktail here? Read below to find out our candid and honest opinions on all things Scorpios.

1. Our Preconceptions Of Scorpios Beach Club
We first heard about Scorpios after my sister and I had booked a long weekend flight to Mykonos to celebrate my birthday. There were countless blog posts, TikTok videos and Instagram Reels all urging everyone to visit this beach club, saying how incredible it was and how it was the ‘best night’ of their lives.
As the sceptics that we are, we weren’t convinced. We thought this just seemed like another pretentious, overpriced beach club where everyone is trying to outcompete each other on who has more money. To add fuel to the fire, we read the genre of music played at Scorpios is mainly hypnotic electronic, which personally is not our vibe at all.
The final nail in the coffin which cemented that we would not be visiting this beach club was the eye-watering prices. Though there is technically no fee to enter, you do have to commit to some sort of minimum spend, whether that be at the restaurant, renting a cabana or attending the sunset beach ritual.
2. Making A Reservation At Scorpios
After lots of research and back-and-forth discussions, we decided that we will in fact be attending the infamous beach club. Reasons being that if we only plan on visiting Mykonos once in this lifetime, we may as well do it properly. If anything, we can have a drink and leave early – no harm done.
So we went online and reserved our spot for the Sunset Music Ritual which takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30pm onwards. It is described as a night of ‘transportive musical journeys’ with live music, singing and dancing around a firepit.
To our surprise, there were only a few time slots left despite booking 6 months in advance so we went ahead and mentally prepared ourselves for a night of glitz, glamour and glistening veneers. On that note, our one word of advice would be – prebook, prebook, prebook. This is not the type of place you come to hoping to get in without a reservation and we will explain exactly why later on.
3. Scorpios By Day
We visited Scorpios Beach Club on one of the hottest days on the island – July 23rd, this was perhaps not our smartest move. By the time we arrived, we were already drenched in sweat and dripping SPF despite getting in an air-conditioned taxi. We arrived at around 4:30 pm where we were then greeted by a team of young, tanned women dressed in black fringe boho clothing – we expected nothing less. We had read online that the staff were rude and snobby, however, this was not the case for us. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they were both helpful and accommodating.
Upon entering, the atmosphere was quite chill and serene. The music was low-toned and the crowds were minimal. The majority of people were still in their swimming costumes sunbathing so we were probably one of the first to arrive for the evening activities. To our surprise, this beach club was HUGE in comparison to the photos and videos we had seen. There are many different elements and areas that make up Scorpios Beach Club such as the restaurant, bar, house, terrace and much more. This definitely made our experience more pleasant as it was nice to have a range of places to relax, chill out and meet a different crowd of people.
The staff then kindly directed us to the sunset beach area, seeing as we booked for the Sunset Ritual which consisted of sun loungers and bean bags scattered around a fireplace on Paraga Beach. What we didn’t know was that there was 0 shade here and on one of the hottest days of the year, you hardly want to be sitting under the beaming sun in your evening dress. So our helpful waitress offered to save our seat for when the sunset ritual started and in the meantime, we could go and relax in the house, which we did.
I ordered a Tequila, Strawberry and Pink Grapefruit Cocktail which set me back a staggering 24 euros! Luckily the fact that it tasted delicious softened the blow on my wallet ever so slightly. My sister who was aiming for an alcohol-free night could not resist ordering a Red Bull flavour that we had never seen before – WATERMELON! It was incredible but it too cost us €10 despite the sticker on the can that they shamelessly forgot to remove showing the original price as €1,59 – did someone say mark up?!
Nevertheless, we nursed our extortionately refreshing drinks and people watched as a wave of partygoers began to arrive.
4. Scorpios By Night
As 5:30 struck, we headed back down to our designated seats on the sunset beach to experience the sunset music ritual. Imagine barefoot dancing, Greek instruments and burning flames. This personally, wasn’t our vibe at all so we instead decided to head back up to the terrace and start the night.
Here, everyone was in their best outfits with a lot of ‘b*tch stole my look moments’ (including myself)! With a capacity of 5000 people, evening time at Scorpios is not the place for you if you are looking for a low-key, exclusive night out. Though the venue is extremely spacious, with the sheer popularity of this place, you are bound to be rubbing shoulders with more than a few people. With that comes one of the worst parts – the queue for the bathroom! Let’s just say you should definitely not wait until you really need to go…
The music was playing much louder now and the guest DJ, Jean Claude Ades made an appearance, who was absolutely amazing. Perhaps we are now electro-music converts as we really enjoyed his set! The vibe here was unmatched and it honestly felt like we were in one of those club scenes in a movie.
Pretentious though it may arguably be, one thing we were pleasantly surprised to see was the vast range of age demographics here. It was rather heartwarming to see those young in age and those young at heart come together for a night of good vibes and good music. This just goes to show that anyone can enjoy this beach club regardless of age, ethnicity or musical preference.
Nevertheless, after an enjoyable night filled with lots of dancing and socialising, the 80mg of caffeine in my sister’s Watermelon Red Bull had officially worn off and it was time to call it a night at around midnight. Upon exiting, we were shocked to see a huge queue of expectant partygoers without reservations hoping to enter the beach club. We can only imagine how long they have been in this queue as it went on for metres and metres (hence why stress booking in advance!). The club was operating a ‘one in, one out’ policy, so at least by leaving we had done our good deed of the day. – moral of the story – BOOK BEFOREHAND.
5. So Is Scorpios Worth The Hype Or Not?
Yes, yes yes. No matter what type of person you are, Scorpios is for everyone. We were wrong on almost all of our preconceptions, especially our thoughts that we wouldn’t enjoy our night just because the genre of music frequently played here wasn’t at the height of our preferences. We have been to many renowned beach clubs around the world but somehow this one is just different. I can’t quite put my finger on why, but it just seems as though Scorpios offers pure, no-nonsense good vibes. Everyone there has one common aim in mind – to enjoy themselves. Let’s not forget that this is also a GREAT place if you’re single and looking to mingle because there is no shortage of eye candy here regardless of your type!
So it is expensive? Yes, very. But at the end of the day you are paying for a guaranteed good night out – sounds like a fair deal to me!
6. Final Thoughts
Oftentimes it requires hindsight to evaluate how enjoyable a night was. This is one of those rare occasions where this was not the case. We appreciated how much we enjoyed it right in that present moment! Though we were almost certain that Scorpios Beach Club was not our scene, we were wrong.
This just shows that when travelling, it is vital to go and experience things for yourself rather than allowing your presumptions to hinder you from doing things. Had it not been an enjoyable night, what would we have lost? A couple of hours, a €50 reservation and perhaps some pride from our gut telling us ‘I told you so’. But what we gained would’ve been so much greater. We gained the pleasure of being able to say that we at least experienced it. And this is far more valuable than not knowing.
That’s All Folks! Thank you for reading! We hope this helped you make an informed decision as to whether you should visit Scorpios or not.
