Get To Know Us
A note from Mariah & Melissa
“We have always shared an incredibly close bond, one that has only grown stronger over the years as we’ve navigated life’s adventures together. There’s just something about exploring the world side-by-side that has a way of forging an unbreakable connection.
Whether it’s wandering the winding streets of a historic European city, marveling at the natural splendor of a remote tropical paradise, or simply enjoying each other’s company while getting lost in the hustle and bustle of a vibrant metropolis, the experience is infinitely more meaningful and rewarding when we get to experience it as sisters.
We feed off each other’s excitement, curiosity, and sense of wonder, spurring one another on to be more daring, more open-minded, and more appreciative of what this world has to offer.
As for our 23 Travels blog, we want more than anything to provide a unique perspective that resonates with our readers, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds who may feel underserved by mainstream travel media.“
Hi, I’m Mariah and I’m the cool sister between the ages of 25 & 35, worked in IT for nearly 10 years and if it isn’t already obvious, I love to travel.
I love exploring different cuisines whether it’s making a recipe from a country I have visited or going to restaurants serving food from countries I haven’t visited.
Whether I’m troubleshooting a complex software issue or exploring the Amazon rainforest, I’m driven by an insatiable curiosity to understand how things work and broaden my perspective. My colleagues are often surprised to learn of my travel exploits, as the attentiveness needed in my role might not immediately suggest an adventurous spirit. Yet I’ve found that my two worlds complement each other beautifully!
I’m Melissa and I’m the cool-er sister, twenty something, currently work as a Project Manager, travel may as well be my middle name.
I can’t say I’m a novice to the blogging game, I have a successful food blog where I document my foodie adventures all over the world, take a look here.
My workweek is about juggling deadlines, budgets, and team dynamics but when the weekend arrives, my focus shifts from the boardroom to the open road, or rather, the open skies. Whether I’m trekking through the Andes or sampling street food in Bangkok, I embrace the role of intrepid explorer, seeking to expand my horizons and discover new inspiring corners of the globe. My sister and I cannot wait to share all of our adventures with you all.
